25 days

It's April. It's been quickly approaching and I now have less than a month left in London. I've been back and forth about April 25th and I can't decide how I feel. On one hand, I know I'm not ready to leave London, but on the other, I'm getting a little excited to be back in the states. So since the 25th is going to come whether I'm ready or not, I'm trying to cross the last London adventures off my list and get ready for my last trip, BARCELONA!

I'm really looking forward to this weekend because it's my last relaxing I'm-living-in-London weekend. I have nothing scheduled that I need to attend, but 5 whole days (no Thursday or Friday classes and we get Easter Monday off) to go out and be a Londoner. Next weekend I'll be in Barcelona, the weekend after that is our farewell event and my last full weekend in London where I'll be hurrying around seeing last minute things, and then comes my sister's visit and the weekend where I leave on Sunday. It's crazy how fast 3 and 1/2 months can fly by...

As for the slight excitement developing for my trip back to the states, I'm attributing it to the taste of home I got over the past weekend. Rami was visiting Kevin (who lives a tube stop away from me) and it was so nice to see them, have dinner and catch up. I didn't get to see them for very long though because Meg and Amanda came to Europe for their spring break the next day. Sadly, their hotel wasn't near Kensington so I spent a lot of time going back and forth on the tube, but it was fun showing them around. For the most part, we stayed and walked around Trafalgar Square, Leicester, Square, and Piccadilly Circus where their hotel was. They were here for a few nights and then jetted off to Paris.

It's (finally) sunny in London today so Ashley and I are thinking of going to Camden market. It's a huge market with tons of food, paintings, clothing, statues, jewelry - pretty much anything you could think of. Most of the people on my program have gone (I missed the pound trip) and they all said it was awesome. I'm excited to get a canvas painting of London for my room next year - I'll need a part of it with me when I'm missing it next year! Besides relaxing the next few days, I'm also planning on going inside Kensington Palace, having afternoon tea there, and visiting the Victoria and Albert Museum - specifically for the fashion exhibit :)

  1. Why don't you mention getting free stuff for being blond anymore? Those are my favorite stories.... :)

  2. Haha Paula, they're used to blondes in London. That was only in Italy and Greece!
